What are UBL Codes?
UBL, or Universal Business Language, is an international business language that enables e-invoices to be prepared in a standard format and processed seamlessly across systems. The e-invoicing system in Türkiye uses the UBL-TR format, as defined by the Revenue Administration.
Thanks to UBL codes, invoices contain standardized information such as sender, recipient, product, quantity, and tax rate. This standard not only ensures compatibility across software but also simplifies invoice control and auditing processes. For example, UBL codes enable the accurate processing of fields such as "VAT exemption code" or "withholding code" in an e-invoice.
UBL codes prevent businesses from making errors in their e-invoicing processes and prevent data discrepancies that may occur on invoices. This internationally accepted system also simplifies companies' international commercial transactions.
In the increasingly digital world of business, every business issuing e-invoices needs to know and correctly apply UBL codes. You can also review our UBL Codes page to learn more about UBL codes and their uses.
